Title: REGULARIZATION OF AN INVERSE PROBLEM IN REMOTE SENSING IMAGING BY APERTURE SYNTHESIS
Authors: Eric Anterrieu, OMP - UMR5572, France
Abstract: It is now well established that synthetic aperture imaging radiometers are powerful sensors for high-resolution observations of the Earth at low microwave frequencies. This article deals with the reconstruction of radiometric brightness temperature maps from interferometric measurements. The corresponding inverse problem is often ill-posed unless a regularizing constraint is introduced in order to provide a unique and stable solution. Standard regularizing approaches are presented, the corresponding solutions are analyzed and the links between their physical and mathematical meanings are established. To support the theory, numerical simulations are presented and analyzed with emphasis on stability and error analysis.
